MILLIONTH Hour Celebration!
Reaching one million work hours on the Capitol Annex Building project is a meaningful milestone because it represents the people behind the progress. More than 3,360 trades people have been engaged on site, reflecting the opportunity this project has created for craft professionals, skilled laborers, apprentices, operators, and local and small businesses. Each hour worked represents a paycheck, a career path, a family supported, and a contribution to a public building that will serve Californians for generations.
The Millionth Hour celebration recognizes the many skilled workers who have come together to deliver this complex work safely and successfully. From demolition and earthwork to concrete, steel, electrical, mechanical, drywall, sitework, and specialty trades, the project has brought together a wide range of expertise from local, small, and underrepresented businesses right here in our State’s Capitol. For the community, this milestone is a tangible reminder that public investment supports people, jobs, training, and the skilled labor needed to build a lasting civic asset supporting State Lawmakers and generations of visiting constituents.
This celebration is a chance to thank the workforce, recognize the trade partners, and honor the local construction community helping bring the Capitol Annex Building project to life.
